Hello, I'm Marq Hawkins, and I am honored to be a candidate for Mayor of California City. My journey is a blend of dedication to education, entrepreneurship, and community service. As a College Professor and Business Owner, I have always been driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact on our community.

Economic development is my top priority. I envision a city where infrastructure investment leads to job creation and prosperity for all. My goal is to create win-win scenarios for investors and job seekers alike, ensuring that California City becomes a hub of economic activity and growth. By attracting businesses and supporting local entrepreneurs, we can build a thriving economy together.

Health and community beautification is also a critical focus of my campaign. I firmly believe that the well-being of our residents and the aesthetic appeal of our community are foundational to our city's success. I am committed to fostering public/private partnerships to bring in comprehensive healthcare programs and initiatives to beautify our city. These efforts will ensure that every resident enjoys a healthy environment and a visually pleasing community, promoting a better quality of life for all.

Fiscal responsibility is essential for the sustainable growth of our city. I understand the importance of a balanced budget and the necessity of holding those in charge of city finances accountable. Promoting efficiency and accountability in government spending will ensure that our resources are used wisely and effectively, benefiting all residents.

My Career and Skills

My career has been enriched by various roles that have equipped me with crucial skills. As an elected senator representing a population of 25,000 students, I honed my abilities to make tough decisions, inspire others, and express myself clearly. As a CEO for 15 years, I have overseen budgets, programs, and identified community needs. My experience as a campaign manager and community organizer has further deepened my commitment to public service.
